All you will need for the rehearsal is your instrument and music stand. If you are joining us for the first time and are on a two week free trial, the music will be handed to you at rehearsal. You can take your music home to practice and bring it to rehearsal each week.

You will be able to sign up for 2 free weeks, after which you can join as a member with the orchestra.
No, there is no need for an audition to join the orchestra. We have two weeks free trial to see whether the orchestra is a good fit for you, and to ensure your instrument section/conductor are also happy.
The People’s Orchestra don’t have a strict entry level but prefer players to at least be grade 7 and above, with good sight reading ability.
We play a wide variety of music! Our main genres range from film and TV music to various show tunes and video game music. Repertoire is tailored towards many different themes across the year, and we happily take recommendations.
Rehearsals take place weekly in term time. The People’s Orchestra meets from 4pm – 7pm every Sunday evening at Trefoil House, Birmingham.
The orchestra works towards around 3 – 4 main concerts a year. We also accommodate smaller mixed events between those concerts, such as Comic-Cons, busking and more.
Concert locations are often local to the area of the ensemble, however does have some exceptions for other external events.
