The People’s Big Band celebrates the old by rearranging the new. A brand-new group under The People’s Orchestra gives a nod to the sound of the 40’s by reinventing the modern with crisp jazzy undertones.
For Pro-amateur musicians, The People’s Big Band offers the chance to play around with the music we all know and love, to live in the nostalgia of the past while performing the contemporary classics such as, Africa by Toto, Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, and Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen.
Originating in the 1920’s before becoming popular throughout the forties with swing, The People’s Big Band allows the opportunity for larger sections of instruments to mingle in order to create a sound that is classy, melodic, and a little bit seductive.

The People’s Big Band in Birmingham rehearses bi-weekly on a Sunday evening during term time at Trefoil House, 2, Ellis Street, Birmingham City Centre, B1 1HL from 7:30-9:30pm
