Just like a Bridge Over Troubled Water, I was searching for fun, friendship and confidence. I felt like A Horse With No Name, A World without Love. However, Opportunity knocked when I learned that The People's Show Choir Newport would Take A Chance On Me. Therefore, with no audition necessary, I knocked on that Green Door and courageously joined a family of 'Welsh Super Troupers! What an awesome experience. What amazing musicality! Since joining, I have also completed my 'first gig'. This alone furnished me with a sense of confidence and achievement. Something in the way that is amazing and uplifting, so pleasurable I have found in you. Now In The Beguine with just One Voice I have Two Hearts, singing and dancing. First, I have been a member of many choirs over the years and also served on a church worship team, so being in a choir “is in my bones”. So when I was looking for a new choir, I wanted to join a new choir (right at the beginning) and it also needed to be a mixed choir. Now that I have been a member of TPSC Newport since its beginning, I realise that it is a great choir to be in. Not just because sometimes I am the only male present, but I feel so welcome there. Our choir leader Jo especially is a real gem.
