SUPPORT THE PEOPLE’S ORCHESTRA

Help more people belong to something extraordinary

The People’s Orchestra brings people together to make music that matters.

Across our orchestras, choirs, big band and community programmes, people find friendship, confidence, purpose and opportunities they could never create alone.

Your support helps make that possible.

It helps someone take their first nervous step into a choir. It helps a musician return to an instrument they thought they had left behind. It helps create a place where people are welcomed, recognised and given an important part to play.

You are not simply funding a rehearsal or a concert.

You are helping more people move from the sidelines into something extraordinary.

Your support has a part to play

Every person who joins The People’s Orchestra brings something of their own.

A voice. An instrument. A sense of humour. A willingness to try. A helping hand. A reason for someone else to feel less alone.

Supporters play a part too.

Your donation helps create the conditions in which people can make music, build relationships and discover what they are capable of. It helps keep rehearsals welcoming, opportunities accessible and communities connected.

It can help someone who has been out of music for years take a first step back in. It can help a person who has lost confidence discover that they are still capable of learning, contributing and being heard. It can help make sure that financial pressure, disability, anxiety or a difficult life moment does not become the reason someone misses out.

What your support can help make possible

  • Welcoming rehearsals, experienced musical leadership and enjoyable opportunities to perform.
  • Support for people facing financial, confidence, health or access barriers.
  • Community choirs, orchestras and bands where people can build friendships and feel less alone.
  • Opportunities to volunteer, gain skills and build experience.
  • Practical local support through the TPO Community Fund.
  • Ambitious shared performances, projects and experiences that people could not create alone.

Your gift does not have to be large to matter. When supporters come together, small acts of generosity become opportunities, relationships, music and meaningful change.

Make a regular difference

A one-off donation can make an immediate difference. A regular gift helps us plan for the future.

Monthly support gives The People’s Orchestra something especially valuable: the confidence to keep building. It helps us plan rehearsals, develop projects, support people over time and create more opportunities for those who have not yet found their place.

Whether you give £3, £10 or £25 a month, you are helping to keep a welcome waiting.

You are helping make sure that when someone is ready to take their first step, there is a group, a song, a chair, a music stand and a community ready to receive them.

Support the TPO Community Fund

Sometimes, a small amount of practical help can make a very big difference.

The TPO Community Fund turns the care and generosity of our community into direct support for people living in and around the places where we make music.

Members can nominate a neighbour, friend, carer, volunteer or local resident who could use a hand. Grants can help with urgent costs, essential bills, mobility equipment, travel to appointments or the cost of taking part in a community activity.

They notice when someone is having a difficult time. They notice when someone needs support. And, when they can, they choose to help.

Your support helps turn that care into something practical.

It can help a person get to an appointment, cover an essential cost, access equipment they need or take part in an activity that brings connection and confidence back into their life.

A choir, orchestra or band can be more than a group that meets each week. It can be a community that looks out for the people around it.

Play the TPO Community Lottery

The TPO Community Lottery is a simple way to support The People’s Orchestra while giving yourself the chance to win prizes.

Every ticket helps fund the music, connection and practical support created through our charitable work. It supports opportunities for people to sing, play, volunteer, develop skills and become part of communities where their presence matters.

TPO Lottery Community Fund

It also helps strengthen the TPO Community Fund, enabling practical support for local people when life becomes difficult. By playing, you are choosing to be part of something bigger than a draw. You are helping make sure that music remains a place where people can move from the sidelines into the sound.

A small weekly choice can create a lasting difference

You may not be able to join a group, volunteer or attend every concert. The lottery gives you another way to play your part.

It is a small weekly act of support that helps create welcoming communities, ambitious music and practical help for people who need it.

Leave a legacy of belonging

Music stays with us.

It can remind us of people, places, friendships and moments when we felt completely part of something. It can be the reason someone keeps going, tries something new or realises they are not alone.

A gift in your Will can help make sure that future generations have the same chance to find music, connection and belonging through The People’s Orchestra.

After you have looked after the people closest to you, even a small percentage of what remains in your estate can help create a lasting difference.

The People's orchestra and The People's Show Choir

Your legacy could help someone take a first step into a choir. It could help a musician return to an instrument they thought they had left behind. It could help create a new performance, a new friendship, a new opportunity or a moment when someone realises that they have more to offer than they thought.

It is a way to leave a place in the music for someone you may never meet.

A choir, orchestra or band can be more than a group that meets each week. It can be a community that looks out for the people around it.

There is more than one way to leave a gift

  • A percentage of your estate.
  • A fixed sum of money.
  • A specific gift, such as shares or property.
  • A gift in memory of someone who loved music.

We understand that making or updating a Will is personal. There is no obligation to tell us about your plans.

But if you choose to include The People’s Orchestra, we would be honoured to thank you, answer your questions and help you understand the difference your gift could make.

Partner with us

Businesses can help more people move from the sidelines into something meaningful.

A partnership with The People’s Orchestra can support ambitious music-making, stronger local communities and practical opportunities for people who may be facing isolation, low confidence, unemployment, ill health or financial pressure.

Your organisation can become part of a story that is local, human and genuinely visible. Together, we can bring colleagues, customers and communities closer to music, shared achievement and social purpose.

There is no single model for a corporate partnership. We can work with you to create an opportunity that reflects your business, your people and the difference you want to make.

Your business could support

  • A concert, event, tour, recording or community performance.
  • A local choir, orchestra, big band or music project.
  • Bursaries, supported subscriptions or access support.
  • The TPO Community Fund and its practical grants.
  • Employee fundraising, payroll giving or matched giving.
  • Employee volunteering or skills-based support.
  • Work experience, mentoring and employability opportunities.
  • In-kind support, including venues, services, equipment or professional expertise.

A partnership that means something

Your support could help someone find their confidence again. It could help make a place available for a person who feels they cannot afford to take part. It could give someone meaningful work experience, support a community project or help bring a large-scale performance to life.

It can also give your employees and customers the chance to be part of something real: people coming together, contributing what they can and creating something extraordinary.

Other ways to play your part

Your support does not have to look like anybody else’s.

You may choose to donate, give regularly, play the TPO Community Lottery, leave a gift in your Will or partner with us through your business.

You could also:

  • Attend a concert and bring someone with you.
  • Fundraise through a challenge, celebration or special occasion.
  • Choose The People’s Orchestra as your workplace Charity of the Year.
  • Ask your employer to match your donation.
  • Offer your time, skills or professional expertise.
  • Tell someone else that we are here.

Every contribution helps create a stronger organisation and a wider community of people who feel welcomed, needed and proud of what they help make.

Help someone find their part

There are people who want more music, friendship and meaning in their lives, but are not yet sure where to begin.

There are people waiting to feel confident before they join. People who have spent too long believing music is for somebody else. People who need a warm welcome, a reason to leave the house or the chance to rediscover what they can do.

Your support helps make that first step possible.

It helps create welcoming places, ambitious music and stronger communities. It helps people contribute what they can, discover that they are needed and take pride in what they create together.

You bring your support. Together, we create something extraordinary.

The People’s Orchestra. Belong to something extraordinary.
