New mass concerts at prestigious venues announced in run-up to Christmas

Members of The People’s Orchestra(TPO) and The People’s Show Choir are set to perform at prestigious venues in a series of pre-Christmas concerts. The new line-up of mass events includes the iconic Symphony Hall and the state-of-the-art Elgar Concert Hall in Birmingham.

Two mass concerts have been booked for December featuring musicians and singers from across the TPO family. There will be a return to the historic 2,262-seat Symphony Hall in Birmingham, widely regarded as one of the finest concert halls in the UK and the world for its acoustics. Opened in 1991 and based in the city’s International Convention Centre (ICC) complex on Broad Street, it is the regular home of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) and a key host for the Birmingham International Concert Season.

While Elgar Concert Hall, based at University of Birmingham in Edgbaston is a 420-seater auditorium in Bramall Music Building that is used to record BBC Radio 3 lunchtime concerts. It was made with the same acoustic design team behind world-renowned Birmingham Symphony Hall.

Rehearsals for TPO, The People’s Show Choirs(TPSC) after the summer holiday break will start to prepare members for these exciting large-scale shows.

The concerts are:

December 12 – Symphony Hall – featuring TPO and TPSC

December 13 – Elgar Concert Hall in Birmingham – featuring TPO and TPSC
