There are plenty of people who can do that.
-
People don’t come just to sing, they come to feel something
- Confidence grows when people feel safe, not when they feel judged
- The best sound comes after the room is full of energy, trust and connection
People first. Music second.

Grange Road, Dorridge, Solihull, B93 8QA
Monday Evenings – 7.15pm to 9:00pm
Rehearsals are weekly during term time

We believe community music leadership should be properly valued. This role offers straightforward weekly pay for rehearsals, alongside the potential to build extra income through local performances.
Weekly rehearsal fee: £80 per 2-hour rehearsal
Concert profit opportunity: Choir leaders can run around 2 to 3 local ticketed concerts each year and keep the profits after costs.
For the right leader, this is a role that can be both creatively fulfilling and financially worthwhile.
- Create an environment where people feel welcome from the moment they walk in
- Give people permission to let go, have fun, and be themselves
- Build confidence in people who may never have sung before
- Turn a group of individuals into a choir that belongs to each other
✔ You’re a confident musician, singer or educator
✔ You enjoy working with people as much as music
✔ You can lead a room warmly and clearly
✔ You want regular, meaningful musical work
✔ You like the idea of building something in your local area
✔ You don’t need formal conducting qualifications
You lead the choir. We help carry the rest.
You will not be left to build a choir alone. As a Community Choir Leader with The People’s Show Choirs, you are backed by a wider team and established charity structure that supports growth, systems, training and the practical side of delivery, so you can focus on the music, the people and the atmosphere you create each week.
- Support with growth and recruitment
We support choir growth through marketing activity, promotional materials, sign-up systems and practical guidance that help more people discover your choir and feel confident joining. - Support with music and rehearsal delivery
You are supported with repertoire, learning materials, arranging help and guidance for planning engaging rehearsals, so you are not starting from scratch each week. - Support with accompanists and setup
We can help with accompanist recruitment and payment, as well as key practical and logistical elements that help rehearsals run smoothly.
- Support with member systems and communication
From onboarding new singers to reminders, attendance processes and ongoing communications, we provide systems that make the member journey feel smoother and more joined up. - Support with compliance and organisation
You benefit from a wider framework covering areas such as health and safety, safeguarding, DBS-related support, insurance, GDPR and music licensing, giving you stronger backing than trying to run everything independently. - Support with training and development
You also get practical training, live podium experience, mentoring and access to a network of fellow leaders, so you can keep growing in confidence as your choir grows too.
