The People’s Show Choir in Leeds will be a warm, welcoming choir for adults who want to sing, meet new people and enjoy something uplifting at the start of the week. Whether you are a complete beginner, a little rusty, or simply looking for something joyful to be part of, you will find a friendly local group where it is easy to feel at home.
Monday evenings, 7:30pm–9:00pm

Accessibility & Parking
Oakwood Church is a wheelchair-accessible venue with step-free access to our rehearsal space. Accessible toilet facilities are available on the same level, making the venue suitable for a wide range of mobility needs.
The church offers free on-site parking, with additional parking available on nearby residential roads where appropriate. Oakwood Church is well served by public transport, with several regular bus routes stopping within a short walk on Roundhay Road and Street Lane, providing easy access from Leeds City Centre, Chapel Allerton, Moortown, Cross Gates and surrounding areas. Frequent bus services 12, 13, 13A, X98 and X99 stop a short walk away on Roundhay Road, while routes 42, 49, 50 and 50A stop near the Oakwood Lane and Easterly Road junction. For those travelling by train, Leeds Railway Station is approximately 20 minutes away by car or can be reached by connecting bus services.
We want everyone to feel comfortable joining us, and our choir leader takes a welcoming, inclusive approach for people with different access needs. If you would like to check anything before your first visit, please get in touch.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Tea and Coffee making facilities are available to make drinks before rehearsal begins, but please bring a bottle of water for during the session. Having a pencil is really helpful for rehearsals too so you can make notes on your music. We are a very welcoming group. We have sheet music and lyrics for you to choose from and you’ll be welcomed by members, our choir leader and pianist too. We like to have a laugh and leave the troubles of the day behind.

The People’s Show Choir in Leeds is part of one of the UK’s largest community music charities, bringing together more than 1,200 singers across 24 choirs and 6 music groups in England, Wales and Scotland. Every time you sing with us, you help us use music to reduce loneliness, strengthen communities and support people facing hardship across the UK.
Your monthly membership is a regular donation that helps fund The People’s Orchestra’s charitable work — keeping music-making welcoming and affordable, supporting venues and professional musical leadership, enabling performances and community projects that improve wellbeing and connection and improving peoples lives in our communities. As a member you’ll receive updates about our impact and be part of our community; your subscription is not a payment for goods or services, and any membership benefits we provide will remain within HMRC’s donor benefit limits, so we can claim Gift Aid where you’ve completed a valid declaration.
