Armed Forces Day and Choir Festival among further Summer concerts announced

An Armed Forces Day concert is among a host of latest Summer events involving The People’s Orchestra’s Rusty Players and The People’s Show Choir(TPSC). Members will also be taking part in a popular Choir Festival in the Midlands and a show alongside professional singers.

A busy performance schedule this Summer will see musicians and singers entertaining thousands of people in outdoor and indoor gigs from now until September.

Here are some of the new concerts to put in your diary and you can see some of those previously announced here.

The Rusty Player’s Orchestra will perform at the official Armed Forces Day event in Wolverhampton on Saturday, June 28. The free, four-hour event takes place at West Park from midday to 4pm but The Rusty’s for Black Country and South Birmingham will take to the stage twice to play.

Visitors can catch The Rusty Players, conducted by Julian Powell, from 2.05pm to 2.30pm and from 3.35pm to 4pm on Saturday.

On the same day, The People’s Show Choir for Dorridge will be joined by members from other areas to sing in Solihull Choir Festival. The festival will bring a weekend of music to the streets of the Warwickshire town.

The TPSCs have been allocated a slot from 3.30pm to 4pm on Saturday June 28 to perform in Solihull Town Centre. Led by Chris Weber, they plan to sing favourites from All That Jazz to a Mary Poppins Medley and What a Wonderful World.

If you go down to Warley Woods, you’re sure to get a musical surprise when The People’s Show Choir for Bearwood sing at the Picnic in the Park Festival on Sunday July 6.
