Something Magical 2024 – Coming Soon
Now that we are looking towards the next massed concert – or concerts, we aren’t sure as yet! – the music decisions are currently underway for our next exciting theme.
The next massed event for The People’s Orchestra and The People’s Show Choir will be a festive one in December 2024, initially held at Birmingham Town Hall. Themed around Radio Times and all things Christmas telly based, we have so many ideas to choose from!
In April, we performed at Butterworth Hall in Coventry, having been on a long road to getting 364 singers onto one stage, along with 47 instrumentalists. A lovely venue, though understandably a distance for some of our further out choirs to Birmingham. A lot has been learnt from such a vast event, and we will take these nuggets of information onto our next adventure – hence our planning already, in May, for our festive performance.
With the choirs growing at a rate we didn’t quite expect, we are looking into what to do to get everyone singing over November – December time. A very happy problem, we are now looking into multiple events, as we simply cannot find and fill the buildings at size we need.
If you have any suggestions for a new and exciting events space for us to look into, please do get in touch! I think I have exhausted the internet in searching, though I am eager to hear otherwise!
Repertoire wise, we are looking at music to appeal to multiple audiences across the running order. We have some classic musicals, tv advert themes and front cover favourites on the cards for our performers. I am always eager to hear what music you’d love to be playing, so do get in touch via [email protected] with any fun suggestions. I’ll do my best to get in the popular themes, and always keep a record for future events.
As we are getting further and further ahead with our concert season planning, tickets have a good chance of being on sale as we speak. After a sell out performance last year, do make sure to grab your tickets early.
