Empowering Lives Through Music and Social Impact
At The People’s Orchestra, we are dedicated to creating positive change in the lives of individuals and communities across the UK.
Through our innovative programs and initiatives, we harness the power of music to break down barriers, foster connections, and provide opportunities for personal growth and development.
Our commitment to social impact lies at the heart of everything we do, as we strive to build a fairer, more inclusive society where everyone has the chance to thrive.
Positive Futures: Transforming Lives Through Music
Our flagship program, Positive Futures, uses networks of music groups as a tool to support people in achieving their best while improving their physical and mental health, understanding their financial rights, and re-joining employment or volunteering. By creating equitable opportunities and enabling people to make positive choices, we empower participants to shape the future of their communities through music.
Each year, over 1,000 people join our weekly creative workshops, with 50% aged 60 and above and 20% impacted by lower socio-economic circumstances. The impact of Positive Futures is evident, with participants reporting increased self-esteem, confidence, and the ability to perform concerts within just six months of joining the program.
Benefits Advice Line: Supporting Financial Wellbeing
We understand that navigating the complex world of benefits and financial support can be overwhelming. That’s why we offer a dedicated Benefits Advice Line, providing guidance and assistance to those in need. Our experienced advisors help individuals understand their rights, access the support they are entitled to, and make informed decisions about their financial future. Each year, we support 250 people with benefits and employment advice, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Work Placements and Back to Work Support: Building Brighter Futures
We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to build a brighter future through meaningful employment. Our Work Placements and Back to Work Support initiatives provide participants with the skills, experience, and confidence they need to re-enter the workforce. By partnering with local businesses and organizations, we create tailored placement opportunities that match individual interests and aspirations. Through one-on-one coaching, workshops, and ongoing support, we help individuals overcome barriers to employment and take positive steps towards their career goals.
Our Impact: Creating Lasting Change
The impact of our work extends far beyond the individuals we directly support. By fostering a sense of belonging, empowerment, and social connectedness, we create ripple effects that strengthen entire communities. Our programs have been recognized with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, and our Social Return on Investment value rating stands at an impressive 1/27.
As we look to the future, we remain committed to expanding our reach and deepening our impact. With the support of partners, funders, and individuals like you, we can continue to transform lives through the power of music and social impact. Join us in building a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, and together, let us create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
Volunteering Placements: Strengthening Communities
Volunteering is a powerful way to give back to the community, develop new skills, and build lasting connections. Our Volunteering Placements offer individuals the chance to make a real difference in the lives of others while experiencing personal growth and fulfillment. From assisting with music workshops to providing administrative support, our volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our programs. We provide comprehensive training, support, and recognition to ensure that every volunteer feels valued and appreciated for their contributions.
