New mass concerts at prestigious venues announced in run-up to Christmas

Members of The People’s Orchestra(TPO), Show Choir and Rusty Players are set to perform at prestigious venues in a series of pre-Christmas concerts. The new line-up of mass events spans from capital cities London and Cardiff to Birmingham.
Four new mass concerts have been booked for December featuring musicians and singers from across the TPO family. There will be a return to two historic venues of Duke’s Hall at The Royal Academy of Music in London and Birmingham Town Hall, following successful sell-out shows there last year.
Another special venue will be 400-seater Dora Stoutzker Hall in Cardiff, which is the only purpose-built chamber recital hall in Wales. Based in the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, “The Dora” is renowned for its acoustics and hosts major events including BBC Cardiff Singer of the World and BBC Young Musician competition.
While Elgar Concert Hall, based at University of Birmingham in Edgbaston is a 420-seater auditorium in Bramall Music Building that is used to record BBC Radio 3 lunchtime concerts. It was made with the same acoustic design team behind world-renowned Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Rehearsals for TPO, The People’s Show Choirs(TPSC) and The Rusty Player’s Orchestras(Rustys) after the summer holiday break will start to prepare members for these exciting large-scale shows.
The concerts are:
December 6 – Birmingham Town Hall – featuring TPO and TPSC
December 13 – Elgar Concert Hall in Birmingham – featuring Rustys Black Country and South Birmingham, TPO and TPSC
December 14 – Duke’s Hall in London – featuring TPO and TPSC
December 20 – Dora Stoutzker Hall in Cardiff – Rustys Barry Island and Carmarthen, TPO and TPSC
