What will happen when you arrive?

Walking into a new group can feel like a big step, but you will not be expected to know anyone or have everything figured out.

When you arrive:

• A friendly member of the team will welcome you.
• You’ll be shown where to go and where to sit.
• You’ll meet your Choir Leader or Conductor.
• You can settle in and join at your own pace.

New people come along throughout the year, so you will not be the only person finding your feet. In our member survey, 82% of people said they felt welcome straight away.

What should you bring?

If you’re coming to sing: wear something comfortable. We’ll provide the lyrics and any music you need.

If you’re coming to play: bring your instrument, music stand and any accessories you normally use.

Full venue, parking and arrival information will be included in your confirmation email.

Your first two rehearsals are completely free.

You have two rehearsals to experience the music, meet the people and decide whether the group feels right for you.

There is no payment and no obligation to continue. For now, all you need to do is come along and give it a try.

Nervous about coming?

That is completely normal.

One of the things we hear most often from new members is:

“I nearly didn’t come — but I’m so glad I did.”

You do not need to arrive feeling confident. Confidence often comes after you have walked through the door.

Have your plans changed?

That’s absolutely fine. Reply to your confirmation email and we’ll help you move your first rehearsal to another date.
