Are you a passionate musician ready to take the next step into choral leadership? Whether you’re an experienced singer, an instrumentalist, or a music educator looking to expand your skillset, this two-day choir leader training course is designed to equip you with the tools, confidence, and practical experience to lead and engage a community choir.
Run by The People’s Orchestra, a national charity dedicated to accessible, inclusive music-making, this intensive course will guide you through the essential skills of teaching songs, conducting, planning rehearsals, and managing a choir in the real world.

Course Highlights:

  • Learn to teach songs effectively to singers who don’t read music
  • Explore conducting technique, beat patterns, and gesture work
  • Get hands-on podium time and live practice with a real choir
  • Discover how to set up and run a successful local choir
  • Build confidence in leading rehearsals, performances, and working with accompanists
  • Receive informal coaching, peer feedback, and a certificate of completion

By the end of the course, you’ll have a strong foundation in choir leadership and the opportunity to apply to lead one of our affiliated People’s Show Choirs in your local area.
