Justin Ayres

Music has been a big part of Justin’s life having started to learn piano from the age of six, or it might have been the portable record player he was given at three! As well as playing and accompanying, he has sung in choirs and worked extensively in musical theatre - on stage, in the pit and as a musical director. MD credits include ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, ‘A Slice of Saturday Night’, ‘Return to the Forbidden Planet’, ‘Assassins’, ‘Merrily We Roll Along' and most recently, another Sondheim classic, ‘A Little Night Music’. Currently, he is also MD to ‘Behind the Curtain’ in Cheltenham for stripped-back musical theatre cabaret - vocalists and a piano in an intimate venue. But this frequently means learning and rehearsing up to 20 musical numbers in about 3 weeks!

The People’s Show Choir lets Justin bring the fun and passion for music and singing to those who are completely new through to experienced singers in a really supportive environment. It’s certainly a welcome balance to his day job as an IT consultant!
