2018 – Inside Out Concert

Inside Out Concert was held in the foyer of Symphony Hall in Birmingham where our conductor went missing! Or rather, they handed over the reins… to the audience!

This one was an experimental type of concert – instead of our audience following the tradition of being spectators to the performance, we were asking them to come up to the podium and lead our orchestra to the music, with a little help and guidance from our then-conductor Dan Watson.

Though they were a little bemused at first, our audience quickly became enthused with picking up the baton and taking charge of the concert (be honest, who has ever not wanted to do that?). There was even some little helpers who made their way into our percussion section, banging the drums on cue to the music!

Despite some quite interesting baton waving from the general public, everyone had a fun and entertaining time, with our TPO members laughing along too.
