Our Central Birmingham Show Choir rehearses usually on a Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 3:15pm, beginning again from 5th September 2021. During Covid-19, Online rehearsals are being offered on Monday evenings at 7:30pm.


Join our weekly, professionally-led, Covid-secure rehearsals and sing alongside The People's Show Choir and The People's Orchestra live in concert. With the provision of learning resources, including demo tracks to help you practise, you will be able to perform locally with your choir throughout the year.


There are also opportunities for international exchanges and a range of exciting performances and recordings.

Our Central Birmingham Choir Leader is Elliot Mercer. 

Elliot is a young and energetic conductor, singer and music educator. Recently graduating from the University of Birmingham, he majored in Choral Conducting and has enjoyed leading a wide variety of groups across the musical spectrum in Birmingham and London. His passion in education and choral leadership has been fostered through studies in singing and choral conducting with numerous organisations, especially the national choral charity, Sing for Pleasure, where he is currently the Assistant to the CEO.

Elliot currently works in the Music Department at a leading independent girls' school in Central London - running ensembles, teaching music and passionate in working to ensure quality musical education for the students. Since September, he has also been working with the prestigious Crouch End Festival Chorus as part of their Young Conductors Mentoring Scheme - leading rehearsals and receiving coaching and training from their Musical Director, David Temple MBE. Elliot has thoroughly enjoyed leading the People's Show Choir in Central Birmingham for over a year and is very focused on making the musical experience as fulfilling, enjoyable and fun as possible - as choral singing should be!
