Daniel Pini is an Australian conductor and cellist based in London. He has performed internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player.
He was born into a musical family and began cello at age 3. His Bachelor’s was completed at the Sydney Conservatorium, where he won the Corinne d’Haag Mayer Scholarship, before he moved to Germany for his Master’s degree with Claudio Bohórquez, and conducting with Christof Löser.
Daniel has performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Australia and Germany and has played in music festivals in Australia, Germany, and Italy. He has been a member of the Pini, Hazelwood, & Friends concert series for the past 19 years, and performs regularly as a chamber musician.
In 2018, Daniel won a Cello Fellowship with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, with whom he toured through Europe and China. In 2019, he moved to London as a member of Southbank Sinfonia. As a cellist, he regularly performs in Germany, London, and Italy, as well as with the Philharmonia Orchestra and his quartets.
Through study, rehearsals, and performances, Daniel has pursued conducting since 2014 in Germany, Australia, and England, and is glad to work with TPO as assistant conductor, to collaborate and make music in Birmingham. His primary goals are to make experiences of music accessible and to tell stories through music.
