Opportunity – We Are One  – Musicians Virtual Project (Commonwealth Community Music Initiative)

Do you love to play music? Do you live in a Commonwealth country? Then this project is especially for you.

Sign up to be part of ‘We Are One’, our collaborative virtual performance to celebrate the Commonwealth.

You will get to perform a specially commissioned piece of music by film composer John Koutselinis, recorded by the Commonwealth Community Massed Virtual Orchestra and Choir in conjunction with The People’s Orchestra and The People’s Show Choirs.

You will be sent all the resources, parts and backing tracks you will need to practice the piece at home, along with helpful hints, tips and workshops to help you perfect the piece.  You will receive a pack which includes all you will need to record yourself playing your part, and then send it to us. The pack includes:

  • Parts and reduced score
  • Orchestral backing track
  • A click-track
  • Links to rehearsal workshops
  • Recording hints and tips

**Singers and musicians will record and upload their videos from locations all over the world. Each one of the videos will then be synchronised and combined into one single performance to create the finished We Are One piece. **

The piece will be shared around the world during the summer of 2022 to celebrate the Commonwealth and its music.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

All recordings need to be submitted to us by midnight on the 30th November 2021 (GMT). Recordings received after this date will not be accepted.

You will be part of the World Premiere of a piece of music commissioned especially for the Commonwealth Community Massed Virtual Orchestra and Choir, a truly global phenomenon. Opportunity brings together musicians from around the world and their love of music in a new way through the use of technology.
