Only 31.6% people in the West Midlands have attended a live music event – we want to change that!
Community is at the heart of everything we do and each performance addresses a local need to encourage everyone to engage with the arts, particularly those from hard-to-reach and socially isolated groups that would not usually attend a live music concert.
With this in mind, The People’s Orchestra been working with Councillor Shirley Hosell recently to ensure that we reach as many people as possible for our Christmas special ‘Something Magical’ on 15th December at 6.30pm.
A big thank you to Sandwell Council for their support. The town grant will give free entry to around 200 people who are socially isolated to the Something Magical concert at West Bromwich Town Hall. Councillor Hosell said, “We know there are people in our community who are isolated and find it hard to get out to social events, maybe because they are older or have a disability. It’s important they too have the chance to enjoy cultural experiences like this. Music also benefits people’s health and wellbeing. It’s wonderful that we have The People’s Orchestra in West Bromwich, and their magical performance will get Christmas off to a great start.”
