New Job Role – Digital Engagement

Job Title: Digital Engagement Manager

Salary:  £29k to £32k     

Contract Type:   Full Time

Location: Flexible working offered with a requirement to attend West Bromwich Town Hall two days per week

Reports to: CEO

Job Role

Role Overview:  The Digital Engagement Officer will work at a senior level to design and implement digital engagement strategies across The People’s Orchestra communications channels (website, social media, media, newsletters), covering all music groups – The People’s Orchestra, The Rusty Players Orchestras, The People’s Big Bands and The People’s Show Choirs – and projects including the Commonwealth Community Music Initiative as part of the Commonwealth Games, and Just The Tonic podcast with Katie Derham (BBC presenter)

You will work hand in hand with the team to ensure that we distribute effective, creative & engaging content across our social media and digital platforms. Part of this will include mentoring and upskilling existing team members on social media engagement, and how best to engage with our members.

The successful applicant will be a creative storyteller and is able to connect trends, research, and human stories in innovative communications and engagement.

Role Requirements

We are looking for an innovative thinker with drive, skills and imagination with the following experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a paid social centric role – Extensive experience of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. TikTok and YouTube marketing
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of how to maximise the effectiveness of social media advertising, in particular Facebook
  • Strong statistical analysis and digital analytics skills to monitor and optimise campaign performance
  • Wider digital marketing experience and an understanding of a similar market sector would be a distinct advantage
  • Proven history of managing and growing paid social channels
  • Strong social media content creation skills is vital in both video and photo
  • Skills in designing and maximising bulk email campaign strategies

Collaboratively build and sustain international audiences and organizational relationships to increase our audience base


The skills we’d be excited to see are:

  • Experience producing creative design assets for multiple digital channels.
  • Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Knowledge of Aftereffects and WordPress would also be an advantage.
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating a range of styles that follow briefs and brand guidelines.
  • Art direction, creation and working with freelancers.
  • The ability to manage your time and a diverse array of tasks effectively.
  • Keeping ahead of design trends and keeping others updated about industry best practices.
  • Great communication between multiple stakeholders
  • Understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, ideally working knowledge of Salesforce
